Logitech has confirmed to The Verge that the vast majority of its webcams are compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2, with the exception of the high-end Logitech Brio 4K. According to Logitech spokesperson Leila Lewis, “All of our webcams except Brio 4K work out of the box with Switch 2.”
When the Nintendo Switch 2 launched three weeks ago, webcam manufacturers faced a confusing challenge: which cameras would work with the new console? Many top-rated webcams initially failed to connect, creating a bit of a mystery. Without clear guidance from Nintendo, manufacturers like Elgato and Ugreen had to reverse-engineer the compatibility issues themselves, often competing with eager consumers trying to snag the latest console.
Interestingly, the mystery appears to have been unraveled. The new information suggests that most webcams with firmware updates can be made compatible with the Switch 2. However, Logitech has indicated that it does not plan to release an update for the Brio 4K, mainly because its security features, including Windows Hello, aren’t supported on the Switch 2.
For those wondering about the Brio 4K, some Reddit users have reportedly managed to get it working by downgrading its firmware—though this comes with risks and isn’t officially recommended.
Other webcam brands are actively working on solutions. Elgato and Ugreen have committed to updating specific models to support the Switch 2, while Obsbot has confirmed plans for firmware updates. Insta360 is still exploring options, and Anker has yet to make any commitments.
Overall, the webcam compatibility landscape with the Nintendo Switch 2 is improving, giving gamers and content creators more options to enhance their streaming and video calls on the new console.
