The Atlantic Launches Exclusive Daily Puzzle Hub: Discover Unique Crosswords and Brain-Teasing Games

Share

Daily puzzle games are everywhere these days, and starting today, The Atlantic is stepping into the game scene with its own dedicated hub. This new platform offers a variety of engaging puzzles, including popular favorites like Bracket City and Caleb’s Inferno Crossword Puzzle, along with some exciting new challenges. Accessible on both the web and The Atlantic’s app, the hub is set to become a fresh addition to your daily puzzle routine.

Caleb Madison, The Atlantic’s director of games, shared a sneak peek of what’s available ahead of the launch. He emphasizes that The Atlantic’s puzzles aren’t about replacing your favorite daily games but rather offering a unique, artisanal twist. “People have a pretty ravenous appetite for new games, so I don’t see this as competing with platforms like The New York Times, Apple News, or LinkedIn,” Madison explains. “What we bring to the table is a more bespoke, handcrafted aesthetic that sets us apart.”

Madison also highlights their focus on creating an immersive experience by adding an “aesthetic narrative component” to the games. For instance, Bracket City includes city-themed touches, like a “fan mail” email address—[email protected]—that adds a fun, story-driven element to the gameplay.

While some features are exclusive to subscribers, many puzzles are free to enjoy. Bracket City and its archives are open to everyone, but access to the full archives of Stacks, Fluxis, and The Atlantic’s daily mini crossword will require a subscription. Non-subscribers can still enjoy the three most recent puzzles in these games. All of Caleb’s Inferno Crossword Puzzles, meanwhile, are reserved for subscribers only.

Looking ahead, Madison is excited about expanding the puzzle lineup with long-form games and more layered experiences. Though he’s keeping details under wraps, he’s passionate about innovating within the puzzle space and delivering authentic, engaging challenges for The Atlantic’s audience and puzzle enthusiasts online. Get ready to explore a fresh, creative world of daily puzzles right at your fingertips!
