Scuf is stepping up its game by introducing drift-resistant Hall effect sticks to its latest wireless controllers. The updated lineup includes the Envision and Envision Pro for PC, priced at $149.99 and $199.99 respectively, as well as the Reflex Pro at $249.99 and the Reflex FPS for PlayStation 5 and PC at $279.99. These prices serve as starting points, as Scuf offers a wide range of customization options that can push the cost even higher.
The switch to Hall effect sticks brings Scuf’s wireless controllers in line with its wired-only models like the Valor Pro and Nomad mobile controllers. These new controllers replace the original Reflex and Envision pads that first launched in 2021 and 2023, respectively. The adoption of Hall effect technology aligns with industry trends, as magnetic, drift-resistant sensing has become common among brands like 8BitDo, Razer, and GameSir, though it’s still absent from controllers from Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft. Some manufacturers are now moving toward more power-efficient drift-resistant solutions like TMR sticks, which could shape future controller designs.
While Scuf controllers tend to be more expensive than premium options from Microsoft and Sony, such as the Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 and DualSense Edge, they’re highly regarded by enthusiasts willing to invest. They’re among the few wireless controllers compatible with Xbox Series X/S and PS5, featuring standout rear paddles and satisfying clicky triggers that make them a favorite for competitive gaming. However, the absence of built-in drift resistance in earlier models made it harder to recommend them outright. For example, in our Xbox controller buying guide, the Razer Wolverine Pro V3 edged out the Scuf Instinct Pro, which I personally enjoyed.
Better late than never, Scuf—these new drift-resistant controllers are a welcome upgrade for gamers seeking precision and reliability.
